Police called to Hopkins High as fight causes 'large school disruption'
Police were called to Hopkins High School Thursday after a fight between students resulted in a “large school disruption.”
According to an email sent out to the Hopkins High School community, the altercation took place Thursday afternoon.
School staff attempted to de-escalate the situation, but it took “several minutes for one group of girls to calm down while separated from the others,” according to the email.
Eventually, officers with the Minnetonka Police Department were called to the school to escort the students out of the building.
“I want to emphasize that while conflict among teenagers does happen, we expect our scholars to be able to regulate their emotions, particularly when adults are present to support them,” the email read.
“Today’s events did not meet our expectations.”
