Minneapolis police say that one person was killed and another injured in a drive-by shooting Saturday evening.
Police were alerted to the incident by ShotSpotter just after 9 p.m., with officers sent to the 600 block of West Broadway, where 911 callers had also reported people had been shot.
They arrived to find a man believed to be in his 30s suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center by paramedics in a grave condition, where he later died.
Another man also in his 30s arrived at Abbott Northwestern Hospital a short time later with non-life threatening injuries. It is believed he was shot at the same location on Broadway.
"Preliminary investigation indicates that several people were standing outside of a business when someone from inside a car shot, striking the two victims," MPD spokesman John Elder said. "The vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed."
At this point, no arrests have been made. The identity of the victim will be released in the coming days.
