Charges are pending against a man who police say was drunk and disorderly when he was kicked out of a Bloomington hotel early Wednesday morning and then took off with a shuttle bus.

KARE 11 and WCCO report around 3 a.m., officers were called to Quality Inn and Suites at 814 E American Boulevard for a man causing a scene.

At the same time hotel staff asked the man to leave, the shuttle pulled up to the entrance. The driver left the keys in the ignition and as he ran inside, the drunk man ran out, hopped into the bus and left.

The thief didn't make it too far before crashing the vehicle into a row of trees inside a local wildlife refuge.

He was arrested at the scene.
