Police say a 28-year-old Fargo mother has been charged with DUI after her 11-year-old son was spotted getting into the woman's car with a bottle of rum, the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead reports.

A police official says a cabbie witnessed Brittney Kenyon's son with a bottle of Captain Morgan rum in Fargo Sunday, and that the boy got in the car with his 5-year-old sibling.

Acting on the tip, police followed the woman's car and witnessed the driver committing several violations, KFGO reports.

The Forum says after Keynon pulled over her vehicle, a man got out of the passenger's seat to talk with police.

KFGO says Kenyon failed a breath test and police found an open bottle of liquor in the back seat where her children were sitting.

Police say a family member came to get Kenyon's children.

The woman posted an $800 bond and was released from the Cass County Jail, the Forum says.
