Responding officers found the victim of an apparent homicide in a parked car in north Minneapolis late Thursday night, Fox 9 reports.

Officers were investigating a 911 call of a shooting at around 10:52 p.m., which led to the find the body in the car at 42nd and Freemont avenues.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office is expected to release the identity of the man.

Officials say they have no suspects in custody and are seeking the public's help. People with tips are asked to call 612-692-TIPS. The reference case number is 13-284834.

The homicide is the latest in a rash of shooting fatalities this week in the Twin Cities.

On Sunday, two men were killed, and a woman and a teenage girl were injured in a shooting incident in a south Minneapolis. Both men were found killed in a vehicle.

Meanwhile, in Shoreview, officials are investigating the death of a man who was found slumped against building Thursday morning.

Reports of the incident are conflicting, as one metro media outlet is deeming the death "suspicious," while another other calls it "intentional." A third outlet said the man died of an apparent gunshot wound, which police are referring to as a possible suicide.
