Maple Grove police are looking into a high school soccer game that turned ugly Thursday night, the Star Tribune reported.

The sectional championship between Totino-Grace and Prairie Seeds Academy ended with multiple punches thrown between players, leaving one student injured, Channel 12 reports.

Maple Grove Police Captain Keith Terlinden said the department will decide who will be charged at the conclusion of the investigation, the Star Tribune reported.

A video also shows a Totino-Grace coach getting punched in the head by the Prairie Seeds goalie:

At least one Totino Grace player needed two stitches for a split lip, FOX9 says. Maple Grove Police are investigating the possible assault. No charges were filed as of Friday.

KARE 11 reports the Minnesota State High School League is also conducting an investigation. League officials and coaches will meet Monday to determine if all players from the Prairie Seeds will play in the state tournament.
