Police have launched a death investigation after a man found unresponsive in a downtown St. Paul parking ramp later died in a hospital.

Responders found the man at a ramp in the 500 block of Wabasha Street at around 7 p.m., with fire medics taking him to Regions Hospital.

It was at Regions that he died. St. Paul PD says at this stage it doesn't have a cause of death, and no arrests have been made.

Police spokesman Steve Linders told the Star Tribune that they can't say at the moment whether the death is suspicious, with more known following an autopsy.

The deceased has not yet been identified by authorities.
