2 pedestrians killed in hit-and-run in Eagan late Thursday night

One report says the incident may be a hit-and-run.

Eagan police say two people were killed when a vehicle struck them in the parking lot of a business on the west side of 2020 Silver Bell Road around 9:50 p.m. Thursday. 

The victims were taken to Regions Hospital but did not survive. 

The driver of the vehicle suspected of hitting them fled the scene, but the vehicle was found around 11 p.m. nearby at La Fonda De Los Lobos on Hwy. 13 in Eagan. 

The investigation led to the arrest of the suspect, a 36-year-old male, at the AmericInn located at 15000 Glazier Avenue in Apple Valley.

The Eagan Police Department is investigating what they're calling a "serious car vs. pedestrian accident" that happened overnight. 

Details are few, but police responded to the scene of the crash on the 2000 block of Silver Bell Road, which is near Hwy. 13, not far from the Eagan outlet mall. 

KSTP reports that investigators believe it might be a hit-and-run incident. 

Eagan police plans to release more details later on Friday.
