Police investigating suspicious death in northern Minnesota

A 47-year-old man was found after a welfare check by police on Tuesday.

Police in northern Minnesota are investigating the suspicious death of a 47-year-old man.

The body of Frank Meyer was found at a home in Makinen, southeast of Eveleth, at 1 p.m. Tuesday after being called to conduct a welfare check.

When they got there, they found Meyer dead in "suspicious circumstances."

"Investigators are awaiting preliminary autopsy results from the medical examiner," the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said. 

The sheriff's office is being joined in the investigation by the Minnesota of Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).
