Police investigating suspicious death of child in Minneapolis

Very few details have been released.

Minneapolis police are investigating what has been ruled a suspicious death of a child.

MPD spokesperson John Elder said officers were sent to the 1600 block of 4th St. S. around 2:45 a.m. Thursday for an "unknown trouble call."

On arrival, police located a child who was under the age of 5 and attempted life-saving measures before paramedics transported the child to Hennepin Healthcare, where the child died.

Adults were in the home at the time, Elder said, and two other children have since been taken into protective custody.

No arrests have been made. No further information is available.
