Early morning drama in Monticello saw police chase a stolen van that then crashed into a boat, before the suspects fled on foot.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office has released images of the two men they want to talk to in connection with the chase, which started as an attempted traffic stop at 6 a.m. in Monticello.

Driving a silver Chevrolet Express, the suspects fled police and a short pursuit followed, which ended when the van left the road and eventually crashed into the boat and trailer in the back yard of a house on the 9000 block of Oriole Lane.

Two men then fled the van, and despite deputies setting up a perimeter and searching the area with K-9 officers and a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter, they weren't found.

It emerged that the Chevrolet had been stolen the night before from a home in Sherburne County, and was found to contain stolen property and mail from the St. Michael area.

On Wednesday afternoon, photos of the two men thought to have been involved were released.
