Police looking for 'person of interest' in connection to woman's killing

The public is advised to avoid approaching him and to call 911.

Police have put a call out to the public to help locate a man who may be connected to a homicide that happened Wednesday afternoon in Minneapolis. 

The person of interest was identified Saturday by Minneapolis Police Department as 53-year-old Jerome Anthony Woodland. He is approximately 6 feet tall, 193 pounds and most recently had a bald head with facial hair and brown eyes. 

Police advise anyone who sees Woodland to call 911. Do not approach him, police warn. 

Woodland is a person of interest in the homicide case involving 38-year-old Nikkiyia Robinson, who was found dead inside a residence on the 400 block of Ridgewood Ave. around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

She died of sharp force trauma to the chest, a medical examiner ruled.
