A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of his sister in Chanhassen.

The Carver County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to a fire alarm reported on the 3700 block of Landings Drive at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, but upon arriving received a report of a shooting at the same address.

Police had been given information that the suspect was inside the address and had allegedly shot his older sister, who also lived at the address.

The suspect, a 20-year-old man, was found to have left the property and had contacted an "uninvolved pedestrian," to whom he admitted he had shot his sister and told the pedestrian to call the police.

The man was arrested without incident at 3:16 p.m., with police finding his older sister dead from gunshot wounds inside the property they share.

Neither suspect nor victim have been identified. The incident remains under investigation.
