A man has been jailed after ramming his car into a house, starting a garage on fire and initiating a standoff with police in Forest Lake.

The incident unfolded just before noon Tuesday, with officers from the Forest Lake Police Department responding to a call in the 20300 block of July Ave. N. for a man causing a disturbance.

Before police arrived, the man had caused significant damage to a home by driving his car into the home's basement, and then moved to a detached garage where he was barricading himself inside and pouring gasoline all over his body.
