Minneapolis Police are investigating the death of a man who was found inside a burning home Monday morning.

Police and fire units were sent to the 2600 block of 13th Ave. S. in Minneapolis at 12:08 a.m. on a report of a structure fire. After the fire departments doused the flames, a man was found dead inside.

Authorities have already ruled that the man did not die from injuries associated with the fire, prompting the start of a death investigation led by the Minneapolis PD Homicide Unit.

Detectives have interviewed people in the area who may have seen or heard something and the Crime Lab has processed the scene and collected evidence for further analysis.

No arrests have been made and the identity of the victim has not been released.
