A man believed to be in his 20s was fatally shot in Minneapolis early Sunday morning.
A report of the "sound of shots fired" was made at 1:55 a.m., with responding officers arriving to the 100 block of West Lake Street to find a gunshot victim who had no pulse and wasn't breathing.
Police perfected CPR and wound management, but paramedics took over and pronounced the man dead at the scene. It marks the 58th "reportable" homicide in Minneapolis this year, according to police.
"Preliminary information indicates that the occupants of two vehicles were shooting at each other. One of the occupants was shot and the other vehicle fled the scene," a release from Minneapolis Police Department says.
