Police: Man stable after being shot by relative in Columbia Heights

The shooting was reported on Saturday morning.

A man is in a stable condition in a Twin Cities hospital after a shooting on Saturday morning in Columbia Heights.

The shooting was reported around 9 a.m., with police called to the 4600 block of Heights Drive.

There they found Abiodun Williams Olayiwola, who was suffering from gunshot wounds and taken from the scene to an area hospital.

Arrested at the scene was a 26-year-old man identified as a relative of the victim, though their exact relationship hasn't been disclosed by the Anoka County Sheriffs Office.

The suspect is being held on probable cause first and second-degree assault, though hasn't been charged at this time.

The incident remains under investigation by the Columbia Heights Police Department and Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
