Police now investigating Eden Prairie home invasion death as homicide

A resident suffered a heart attack after the robbery.

The death of a man in Eden Prairie in October is now being investigated as a homicide, after he suffered a heart attack following a home invasion.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed on Monday that Oukham Oudavanh, 63, died after suffering the medical emergency at the property at 13712 Jennifer Court on Oct. 6.

A woman called police to report a burglary at her house on about 10:40 p.m. that night, with two men who carried out the home invasion fleeing their home with cash.

Oudavanh, who was in the property with the woman, suffered the heart attack and was pronounced dead just before 11:30 p.m.

The Eden Prairie Police Department is investigating his death as a homicide.
