A pizza delivery driver was dropping off a pizza early Thursday morning when his SUV was stolen, the Moorhead Police Department said

Police say the driver was dropping off the pizza at 3:21 a.m. on the 900 block of 18th Street South when he saw a white man in his 30s run and jump into his vehicle, drive in reverse south on 18th Street then turn to go east on 12th Avenue South.

"We would like to remind everyone not to leave your vehicle running and unlocked even if it's a short time as there has been an increase in theft of motor vehicles," the police department said.

The vehicle is a 2015 white Ford Escape. At the time it was stolen, it had a North Dakota license plate of 820CSC. If anyone sees the vehicle, call police at 701-451-7660.

The pizza company the driver works for wasn't provided in the release.
