Homicide detectives are working a case in north Minneapolis after a man was found dead inside a residence Monday evening.

Minneapolis Police Department reports that officers were sent to a home on the 1400 block of 17th Ave. N. around 6:50 p.m. on a report of a shooting. They arrived and found a man dead inside the home.

Suspects fled the residence prior to the police arriving, but preliminary information from the investigation suggests the victim and suspects knew each other and that a robbery may have led to the shooting.

The scene was processed by the Minneapolis Crime Lab and detectives interviewed people in the area and gathered video, according to a release from MPD.

The identity of the victim, as well as manner and cause of death, have not been released.
