Police say officers were shot at in north Minneapolis
An investigation is ongoing after police officers in north Minneapolis were shot at, according to a release from the Minneapolis Police Department.
The incident unfolded just after 11:30 p.m. as officers were checking into a suspicious activity call in the area of the 1700 block of Vincent Avenue North. While doing so, a "suspect fled from the officers on foot" and as police chased the suspect "unknown individuals shot at the officers."
One officer returned fire. No one was struck by gunfire during the shootout, though the suspects fled the scene and got away.
"One officer was treated for an unspecified injury," the release said.
