Authorities seized more than 80 pounds of synthetic marijuana and $232,000 in cash during an undercover narcotics investigation involving a south Minneapolis tobacco store last week, WCCO reports.

The store located on the 4600 block of Nicollet Avenue South was under investigation for selling the synthetic pot "K2," also knows as "420." An undercover officer purchased the drug from a clerk in the store on four different occasions.

Search warrants were executed at the store and the home of the store owner, 30-year-old Mokrane Rahim, last Wednesday.

KARE 11 says the synthetic drugs and the majority of the cash, nearly $200,000, were found at Rahim's home in New Brighton.

Rahim was arrested and charged with Fourth Degree Sale of a Controlled Substance to a Police Officer.

In July President Barack Obama signed legislation outlawing synthetic drugs. The legislation was sponsored by U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar after a Coon Rapids teen died from taking the synthetic drug 2C-E.
