Police stopped a driver in central Minnesota and discovered the classic car he was in had been stolen and was worth $80,000.

The alleged car thief was stopped in New London Township last Thursday, Mar. 19, with Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office and Belgrade Police Department both involved.

The driver was behind the wheel of a 1956 Ford Thunderbird that had been stolen from a local business.

Deputies subsequently discovered another business had been burglarized in New London Township, with the driver suspected in both.

The man, from rural Kerkhoven, has been arrested for probable cause burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property.

The case is still under investigation.
