Police: Stranger fires shots into Moorhead home after being denied entry
A stranger apparently fired shots into a home in Moorhead after the homeowner said the suspect couldn't come inside.
The Moorhead Police Department says officers responded to a report of shots fired at a home on the 400 block of 7th Street South around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim told police they were letting out their dog when a man approached, requesting to come inside. The victim told the man, "No," and went inside. Shortly thereafter, the glass on a front window broke.
Around the same time, a 911 call came in reporting gunshots in the same area.
Police found ammunition casings and bullet holes in the house.
The victim, who wasn't hurt, did not know the suspect.
The police department is looking for images of the suspect, and asking residents and businesses in the area to check any surveillance cameras they might have.
Anyone with information can call the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701-451-7660 and ask to speak to the on-duty Moorhead Police Supervisor.
The suspect is described as being a Black man between 5-foot-6 and 6-foot and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.
