Police: Woman forced into vehicle and shot in Minneapolis

It happened Sunday evening in north Minneapolis.

A woman is recovering after being pulled into a vehicle, assaulted and shot over the weekend. 

According to Minneapolis police, the unidentified woman was forced into a vehicle around 5:15 p.m. Sunday on the 900 block of West Broadway Avenue in north Minneapolis. 

The woman told police she was assaulted and shot before jumping from the vehicle near Fremont Avenue North and Broadway Avenue North, at which point she ran to a residence and called 911. 

She was taken by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. 

The case remains under investigation.
