The Fargo Police Department says a woman found dead in a car on Wednesday had been there for months.

The body of 65-year-old Barbara Anne Barry was discovered in a car in the Cash Wise grocery store parking lot located at 1401 33 St. S.

Police believe the woman was homeless and "had been there for a few months."

Investigators do not think the recent extreme cold had anything to do with her death.

Police were called to the scene at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday after receiving word of a woman in the car's back seat.

"If you drove by this car, you wouldn’t notice there was a person in there unless you went real close and looked in so it’s easy why people didn’t call it in before,” Fargo police Sgt. Jim Kringlie told KVRR

There were no signs of foul play in the woman's death.
