A woman has been arrested for sending a bomb threat to a local sheriff's office, and later admitted to sending threats to a Minneapolis establishment, police say.

The 18-year-old Cloquet woman was arrested Wednesday after she made an anonymous bomb threat to the Carlton County Sheriff's Department through the internet, according to the Cloquet Police Department.

The woman also confessed to making threats to other law enforcement, including the Aitkin County Sheriff's Office and the Superior Police Department, as well as "an establishment in Minneapolis," the release notes.

Officials haven't confirmed if it's the same threat that forced the Fine Line Music Cafe in downtown Minneapolis to evacuate on March 27 following a bomb threat made on Reddit.

Derek Randall, with the Cloquet Police Department, told BringMeTheNews preliminary information shows the threat in Minneapolis was made to a "downtown nightclub/cafe" but the specific location hasn't been confirmed and officials are still investigating the identity of the exact locations or targets, he said.

Minneapolis police spokesperson John Elder told BringMeTheNews they are aware of the arrest and claims, and they're working with the Cloquet Police Department.

Police say no explosive devices were located in the Carlton County incident, and it's believed the suspect didn't actually have a device.

She made the threat using the agency's Nixle tool, which is used by some public safety officials to communicate to the community via social media and email, and also lets residents make anonymous tips.

The suspect was booked into the Carlton County Jail on charges of felony threats of violence. Formal charges are expected to be filed Thursday or Friday "at the latest," Randall told BringMeTheNews.
