Political yard signs vandalized, stolen in Kandiyohi County
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office has noted a trend of vandalized or stolen political yard signs.
The central Minnesota department went to Facebook Wednesday to highlight the recent crimes. Stealing or damaging a yard sign can also entail trespassing, the department noted.
The post also said the crimes are an act of “violating the right to Freedom of Speech of fellow citizens.” The post does not mention which candidates or affiliations the vandalized and stolen signs represent.
“Regardless of your political affiliation or which candidates you support, we urge everyone to please show respect for your neighbors and fellow citizens. Support your candidate but respect the rights of others to also support theirs!” the post reads.
Those with information about the cases are encouraged to call 320-235-1260.
