Twin Cities drivers are soon to be greeted by another significant closure that'll impact one of the main arteries on metro-area roads.
Beginning Friday night, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will close the ramp from westbound Interstate 94 to southbound 35W. It'll officially close at 10 p.m. Friday and stay closed until 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22
The 10-day closure means drivers will have to use alternative routes, with the main detour rerouting motorists from I-94 West to I-394 West, then south on Hwy. 100 and east on Hwy. 62.
If you're coming into Minneapolis on I-94 East and hoping to go south, MnDOT encourages you to consider using I-494, Hwy. 52 or I-35E instead.
The closure will allow construction crews to work on a large repaving project.
