Ranch owners, campaign manager charged in Lakeville sisters case

Three more people have been charged in relation to the disappearance of two Lakeville sisters who were found last month – including the owners of a ranch where they were said to be hiding.

The Pioneer Press reports the Dakota County Attorney's Office on Friday charged Doug Dahlen, 53, Gina Dahlen, 47, and Deidre Evavold, 51, with two counts of deprivation of custodial/parental rights involving the concealment of a minor.

The Dahlens own the White Horse Ranch in Grant County, where Gianni and Samantha Rucki were found last month after having disappeared in April 2013 amid a bitter custody dispute between her parents.

Their mother, Sandra Grazzini-Rucki, has already been charged with three counts of deprivation of parental rights and is being held on a $1 million bail.

The Star Tribune says Evavold, of St. Cloud, was the campaign manager for attorney Michelle MacDonald, who made an unsuccessful run for the state Supreme Court last year, and is said to be a critic of the family courts system.

She is accused of driving with Grazzini-Rucki to drop her daughters off at the ranch in April 2013, and information found by police on her electronic devices is believed to have led them to the ranch, which is east of Herman and south of Elbow Lake.

FOX 9 reports that the girls, who were 13 and 14 at the time but are now 15 and 16, stayed at the ranch until they were found by police.

Since they were found, the girls have been undergoing "reunification therapy" out of state, which their father David Ricki's attorney told the Star Tribune "is going very well."

David Rucki was awarded custody at a Dakota County hearing in 2013, with the judge concluding that his daughters had been "brainwashed" by their mother.
