Rascal Flatts launching restaurant chain, planning Twin Cities location

The country band is opening its own chain of themed restaurants around the United States and Canada. Rascal Flatts' first location will be in Phoenix. More restaurants are planned for next year, including one in the Twins Cities metro.

The country band is opening its own chain of themed restaurants around the United States and Canada. Rascal Flatts' first location will be in Phoenix. More restaurants are planned for next year, including one in the Twins Cities metro.

Rascal Flatts is currently crisscrossing the country on their Changed Tour, which makes a stop at the Minnesota State Fair on Thursday.

In January, Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill in St. Louis Park was nominated for the Academy of Country Music Awards' Nightclub of the Year.

Popeyes to take over 14 Twin Cities KFC locations

AFC Enterprises, Popeyes' Atlanta-based parent company, is planning to buy 14 KFC restaurants from a bankrupt franchisee, a major push for the fried chicken chain that has only one lone location on Lake Street in south Minneapolis. The deal is part of a $13.8 million purchase of 28 restaurants in Minnesota and California. The new locations in a handful of metro cities will be quickly converted once the bid is approved by a judge.

Granite City Food & Brewery building new restaurant in Tennessee

Twin Cities Business reports the new location, south of Nashville, will open this summer. The St. Louis Park-based restaurant chain is set to open its first restaurant in Michigan next month. Last year, Granite City also announced plans to remodel some locations to increase seating capacity.
