Hidden cameras found in downtown Minneapolis hotel rooms, Wisconsin school staffer placed on leave
A school staff member in Wisconsin has been placed on leave while an investigation is conducted into why recording devices were found in the hotel rooms of students staying in a Minneapolis hotel.
The decision was taken by the Madison School District, which confirmed to the Milwaukee State Journal that students found recording devices in their rooms at the Hyatt Regency, on Nicollet Mall, during a field trip to Minneapolis.
The newspaper notes the staff member being placed on leave was a cautionary measure and was standard procedure during police investigations.
A search warrant was executed at a home in Cottage Grove, a suburb of Madison, as a part of the investigation.
Minneapolis police hasn't confirmed that the devices in question were "hidden cameras," but did tell the Associated Press that more than one recording device was found at the hotel.
The field trip involved students from Madison East High School.
