Red Bull 'downhill ice cross' coming to St. Paul Cathedral
An extreme sport sometimes described as "downhill ice cross" is coming to the St. Paul Cathedral in January. Athletes competing in "Crashed Ice" skate down a specially designed ramp of ice at high-speed while navigating jumps and banked turns.
The Catholic Spirit says the three-day event is expected to draw tens of thousands of people every day. Local authorities are working with Red Bull to minimize the impact on church-goers, businesses and residents.
