Carrie Fisher suffers a heart attack

Carrie Fisher was reportedly on a flight when she suffered a heart attack.

Carrie Fisher, who rose to fame after playing Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, reportedly suffered a heart attack on a flight Friday.

TMZ says Fisher was on a flight from London to L.A., was given CPR on the plane and taken to a hospital after landing. The Hollywood Reporter reports police were called in at about 1 p.m.

The story appears to be backed up by actor and comedian Brad Gage, as well as actress Anna Akanna. Both tweeted they were on the plane with Fisher.

The Los Angeles Times reports Fisher is in critical condition at a hospital. The Associated Press reported earlier that she had been stabilized, but her brother recently told Variety that's not true – she's not in stable condition.

She's actually been moved to the intensive care unit (ICU). Her brother says there's no good or bad news at this point.

Fisher's Star Wars co-stars, Mark Hamill and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), tweeted these Friday:

Fisher is 60 years old, and last year revisited her iconic Princess Leia character for the first time in 22 years for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She's an author, and her recent The Princess Diarist memoir goes over her time on the Star Wars set. She's also a vocal advocate for addressing mental health issues.

She's been traveling for a book tour.
