Report: Standoff at New Hope apartment ends, no children harmed

Authorities say the standoff has ended and none of the children were harmed, according to the Star Tribune, citing scanner audio from the scene at around 2:15 p.m. 

There were no injuries, the report says.

Police have been in a standoff with a man locked inside a residence in New Hope for more than 12 hours, and now there are reports that he has two children inside with him. 

Police barricaded an area around the 7300 block of 62nd Avenue when the standoff began around 8 p.m. Monday, according to multiple Twin Cities media outlets. 

WCCO reports that a woman outside the residence says the man has her two children inside with him. KARE 11 reports that the man was allegedly making threats against the children.
