A Grand Rapids woman accused of having sex with a 15-year-old is facing felony charges, reports say.

The Duluth News Tribune says 30-year-old Melanie Lynn Peterson is said to have helped the teenage boy run away from Northland Recovery Center's adolescent center in Grand Rapids – where Peterson worked as a technician.

The center provides care to chemically dependent teenagers.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning when the boy ran away, he returned later that night around 10:30 p.m., the paper says. He admitted to smoking marijuana and taking Percocet and Vicodin, officials report.

According the the charges, Peterson let the teenager stay at her place, the Grand Rapids Herald Review says. Authorities tell the paper she gave him the drugs and they had sex multiple times.

Later, the boy told authorities that Peterson helped him run away and he spent the day at her apartment, according to the News Tribune.

The paper says the 15-year-old also described his relationship with the technician as "intimate" and noted that they had sex about 20 times at the recovery center.

Authorities tell the source that Peterson has admitted to using drugs with the boy and said they had done it several times before at the center.

The Herald Review says Peterson has been given several felony charges including three counts of criminal sexual conduct, sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and deprivation of parental rights. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, reports say.

The treatment facility tells the paper that Peterson is no longer employed with them.
