Bomb threat led to evacuation of southeastern Minnesota town

A small southeastern Minnesota town was put on lockdown Friday afternoon.

Houston County Emergency Management posted to Facebook asking people to stay out of the Spring Grove area.

Another post says Houston County – where the town is located – has closed all government buildings until further notice.

Authorities eventually explained that they'd received a bomb threat by telephone.

The sheriff's department told WXOW that someone had called inba report of an explosive in a van.

ABC 6 says a bomb squad from the Twin Cities arrived sent a robot to check out the vehicle.

While the search was underway, the owner told the station he had no clue why the squad was looking at his vehicle.

The Star Tribune reported late Friday that Spring Grove police issued an all clear after no explosives were found and are investigating the phone call reporting the explosives.
