The Benton County Sheriff’s Department is asking residents to be “alert” as they continue to search for an at-large suspect in Sauk Rapids.

According to a Friday update from the department, a suspect wanted in connection to theft and fleeing law enforcement has not yet been located after law enforcement has “exhausted” efforts to find him.

The suspect was last seen in a swampy area near the intersection of Garden Brook Drive Northeast and Strawberry Court Northeast.

He is described as a white 37-year-old man with short black hair and a short beard. He is reportedly around 6’ tall and weighs around 300 pounds.

The suspect was last seen wearing a light gray sweatshirt with the words “Champion” on the front, jeans and white shoes.

“Law enforcement will continue to maintain a presence in the area to ensure the safety of residents. We continue to ask any residents who see this suspect to call 911 immediately,” the update reads.
