'Restaurant capital of the world' eateries destroyed in fire are reopening this week

A tiny Minnesota town that called itself the "restaurant capital of the world" is back to its former glory.

In 2014, two of the four restaurants in Dorset were destroyed by a fire. Dorset House was a complete loss, while Companeros was severely damaged.

The owners of the restaurants said they weren't going to rebuild, but a family stepped up and bought them with the promise to reopen them. And that's set to happen this week.

A post on the Companeros Facebook page says it will officially reopen for Cinco de Mayo at 5 p.m. Thursday (and will be open through Mother's Day weekend).

The Dorset House will also be open for ice cream this weekend, the post says, noting the grand opening of that restaurant is "coming soon."

The restaurants' owners also thanked the community for their help in the rebuilding process. People have donated money through a GoFundMe page, as well as decor to help recreate the feel of Companeros before the fire.

The tiny town of Dorset, population 25, may sound familiar – it made headlines around the world after electing Bobby Tufts mayor when he was just 3 years old. Tufts was re-elected at age 4, and last year, his younger brother – James Tufts – was named mayor, also at age 3.

The brothers appeared on Steve Harvey's "Little Big Shots" last month:
