Are you the customer of a company that makes you feel like more than just a customer? One that treats you with respect and has a positive impact on the wider community?

If so, they may well feature on this list of Better Business Bureau (BBB) finalists for its 2015 competition to find companies who are considered Minnesota's "most ethical."

The Torch Awards for Ethics looks for businesses that show integrity and "strive to go above and beyond in their dealings with customers, employees, vendors, and within their communities," according to a BBB news release.

"It is truly an honor to spotlight companies that set an example through their commitment to excellence," BBB CEO Dana Badgerow said. "These are businesses that understand and clearly demonstrate the importance and value of ethics."

Among this year's nominees is St. Paul-based I.C. System, Inc. a debt collection agency that describes itself as one that "does it right," guaranteeing not to damage "delicate client or patient relationships" using a "courteous, competent and compassionate tone." Competing against them in the largest employer category is Preferred Credit Inc. of St. Cloud, which says it is "determined to meet and exceed your expectations."

Previous winners of Torch Awards include the Minnesota State Fair, Lehman's Garage, Best Buy and CenterPoint Energy. The awards will be held on Oct. 29.
