The man who may have pulled the trigger in the shooting a victim in the parking ramp of M Health Fairview South Hospital in Edina on Monday night is now the subject of a $5,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that leads to his arrest and charging.

The City of Edina announced the reward Tuesday afternoon, saying the man in the surveillance snapshots at the top of the story is "responsible for an attempted robbery and shooting."

The Edina hospital was locked down just before 9 p.m. Monday after the attacker attempted to rob a 45-year-old man on the second level of the parking ramp at 65th St. and France Ave. The 45-year-old was shot in the head during the encounter, though he was immediately treated and has already been released.

Law enforcement units from Edina, neighboring cities and Hennepin County rushed to the scene, creating a perimeter around the hospital with support provided by a State Patrol helicopter. The person of interest, however, fled after the shooting and remains at large.

He is described as an Asian man in his 30s with shaved hair and a tattoo on the right side of his neck. He was wearing sweatpants at the time of the attack.

Anyone with information about the crime or person of interest is asked to contact the Edina Police Department at 952- 826-1600. All tips can be provided anonymously.

The Star Tribune reports the victim is a doctor who lives in Eagan, but officials have not confirmed the victim's identity.
