A man was killed in Stearns County earlier this week when the pickup he was driving left the road and hit several driveway approaches.
The incident was reported at 11:38 p.m. Wednesday at the 23000 block of County Road 9 in Munson Township, just north of Richmond.
The 1985 Ford pickup was southbound on County Road 9 when it left the road, hitting the approaches and coming to rest on a fence line.
The driver, identified as 69-year-old Michael Spleiss of Richmond, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other people inside the vehicle, with crash investigators finding Spleiss was wearing his seatbelt.
The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety says that 233 people have died on state roads this year so far, compared to 219 at the same point last year.
