A half-mile section of road in Minnetonka is currently closed due to ongoing police activity.

Minnetonka Police Department tweeted just before 7 a.m. that part of Shady Oak Road is closed both directions due to an incident on the 3600 block.

The road is closed between Minnetonka Boulevard and Minnetonka Mills Road.

At this stage there are no details as to the incident, but police say there is no threat to the public. They also said that people should avoid the area.

A reader told BMTN that they saw a SWAT team in the area. This is unconfirmed by police.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
