Road work ahead: Weekend construction to slow traffic

Road construction will slow travel for some motorists around the metro this weekend. This is from the Minnesota Department of Transportation's latest update:

Interstate 35E fully closed

I-35E between Interstate 94 and Highway 36 will close at 10 p.m. Friday and reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

You'll see a gradual slowing: Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, the interstate will be reduced to two lanes in each direction, and at 9 p.m., the road will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. Crews will begin closing the ramps in the closure area at 9 p.m.

Larpenteur Avenue Bridge

The Larpenteur Avenue Bridge spanning I-35E will close at 5 p.m. Friday and will remain closed until mid-July.

I-694 in North Metro

Eastbound I-694 will close at I-94 from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. The ramp from northbound Highway 100 to eastbound I-694 will be closed at the same time.

Highway 65 in Minneapolis

Highway 65 between 18th and 14th Avenue is closed to through traffic through the fall.

Southbound Highway 169 in Edina and Eden Prairie

Southbound Highway 169 between Highway 62 and Valley View Road is closed until early July. Southbound traffic will be detoured to westbound Highway 212 and eastbound I-494.

Highway 10 in Anoka and Coon Rapids

Highway 10 between Fairoak Avenue and Hanson Boulevard will have nightly lane closures beginning at 6 p.m. and continuing through 5 a.m. each following morning. The closures are anticipated to continue into June.

I-35E ramps in St. Paul

The ramp from southbound I-35E to Victoria Street and the ramp from Victoria Street to northbound I-35E are closed until 7 p.m., Monday, June 16. Detours are marked.
