Rochester man killed in motorcycle crash near Iowa border

A Rochester man is dead after crashing his motorcycle on Sunday. 

The Minnesota State Patrol says the 64 year old from Rochester, who has yet to be identified, was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson on Hwy. 43 in Fillmore County, southeast Minnesota, when he lost control just before 2 p.m. The motorcycle left the road and hit a sign, then rolled multiple times. 

Roads were dry at the time of the crash, which happened near the small town of Choice – located about 15 miles north of the Minnesota-Iowa border. 

The victim's identity will be released pending notification of family members. 

Another fatal crash occurred on Saturday when a 20-year-old man from Hibbing hit a deer on his motorcycle in St. Louis County, northern Minnesota.
