Rookie Woodbury police officer Caitlin Jaworski was on her first day on the job when she noticed a suspicious-looking collection of electronics in the back of a car during a routine traffic stop, the Woodbury Bulletin reports.

Her intuition paid off – police soon learned the goods had been stolen earlier that day from a Cottage Grove home, the newspaper reports. Now the three occupants of the car face felony charges.

Police initially had pulled the car over because the three were not wearing seat belts. They quickly discovered the driver had a suspended license.

Before Jaworski, working under the supervision of a training officer, went to put handcuffs on one of the vehicle's occupants, she searched his pockets and found a pill the man admitted was Ecstasy, plus a television remote and $300 cash, the Bulletin reported.

Jaworski said she had a lot to tell her husband about her first day. He is serving in Afghanistan, and last month he watched his wife's swearing-in ceremony via videostream from overseas.
