Paragon Outlet Partners, a Maryland-based retail real estate development firm, has announced Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th will open a 28,000-square-foot anchor store at its new outlet mall in Eagan, Minn.

"We are thrilled Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH will open an anchor store at Paragon Outlets Twin Cities at Eagan," Paragon Outlet Partners Principal Nicholas King said in a news release. "As we create a dominant outlet center in the Twin Cities market, the addition of Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH represents our steadfast commitment to offer customers convenient access to a collection of the world's most iconic brands at dramatic savings."

The Eagan City Council approved the proposed 441,000-square-foot open-air shopping center, which will be located near the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Highway 13, last month. The project is expected to create thousands of jobs. Construction will begin next spring. It's slated to open in November 2014 featuring roughly 100 top brand-name stores.

The Pioneer Press noted this will be the only major outlet mall within the seven-county metro area.
