Scooter rider killed in collision with car in St. Louis Park

The operator of a scooter was killed in a collision with a car in St. Louis Park on Wednesday morning.

The incident happened around 9 a.m. at the intersection of 28th Street West and Quentin Avenue South.

Authorities were called to a collision between a car and scooter that was licensed for use on the roadway.

The scooter rider, a St. Louis Park man, was treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

The driver of the car, a Twin Cities woman, cooperated with police and was released pending further investigation, the City of St. Louis Park said.

More details about how the collision happened have not been released at this stage, other than authorities saying no drugs or alcohol are thought to have been involved.
