Scrap fire at St. Paul recycling center is second in a week
Firefighters responded to the second scrap fire in a week at a St. Paul recycling center Saturday morning.
According to the St. Paul Fire Department, crews were called to the 1300 Block of Red Rock Road at around 5:30 a.m. The site is home to AMG Resources, a scrap metal recycling center.
A pile of recycling material had reportedly caught fire. Crews worked to extinguish the fire until around 7 a.m. No one was reported to be injured in the fire, and it is believed to be accidental.
The department also responded to a scrap fire at the same site Tuesday after there were reports of black smoke coming from the facility.
