Search for three people after 16-year-old fatally shot on Fond du Lac Reservation

The teen was found dead outside a home in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police are searching for three people in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy on the Fond du Lac Reservation, west of Duluth.

The incident was reported shortly after 1 a.m Monday, with St. Louis County Sheriff's deputies and Fond du Lac police officers finding the teen dead outside a home on the reservation, having suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

Two women were found inside the home and were interviewed by police, who later identified three more people suspected as being involved who left before officers arrived.

The incident is being treated as a homicide, with police issuing an appeal to find the three persons of interest, who are: 

  • Joseph James Fohrenkam
  • Trae Dillon Shabaiash  
  • Littlefawn Fohrenkam

Anyone with information as to their whereabouts should call 911.

The victim's name has not yet been released.
